Hiking enthusiasts, sporty, adventurous, nature lovers, and crazy about wild camping and whisky. And in love with Scotland! That’s us in short.

Thank you for showing interest in us. We are Saskia and Martijn, Dutch, and proud parents of three sons – our eldest speaks like a real Scotsman and our middle son is Scottish born. At times, we feel like we must be the luckiest people on the planet, as we got the brilliant opportunity a few years back to live in Scotland for three years. In those years we totally fell in love with the country!

Why Scotland?

Working and living in the Highlands brought us close to the Scottish people, warmly welcoming us at every opportunity and ever so proud of their heritage and nature. Our jobs gave us loads of time to explore the whole of Scotland. We knew we were there for a limited time only, forcing us to realise that if we wanted to see it all, the time was now.

So to the outdoors we went! Packing up our Rover, renting vintage VW camper vans, or simply carrying our packs, tents, and kids on our backs: as long as there is some form of adventure to be found, count us in! Many roads we drove up and down so many times in our quest to visit the most beautiful and amazing places of Scotland.

We want to give you a genuine Scotland experience. It is not just about visiting the major highlights, but sharing all the little secrets that make Scotland so special. Because that’s where the true Scottish spirit can be found. We have been travelling Scotland for three years, looking at everything through tourist’s eyes, and finding so many special places that made us fall for the country.
